The editors may have first clapped eyes on those 92 suitcases back in 2004. Or was it 2005? And if they were seen hanging around at Compton Verney, Warwickshire, they might also have been seen filling the gallery space above The Art Shop, Abergavenny, South Wales.

Of course, Tulse Luper, the owner of the 92 suitcases, was nowhere to be seen. But then Tulse Luper has never been seen, except as the alter ego of Peter Greenaway, one of the most original film makers working anywhere in the world today.

And even Peter Greenaway is no longer Peter Greenaway. In recent years he has reinvented himself as 'VJ' Greenaway, the initials VJ marking him out as the leading exponent of VJ performances. Finally freed from classic cinematographic linearity, he is now touring the world as a 'real time image conductor'.
