According to RIBA, architecture is responsible for about 45% of the carbon dioxide (greenhouse gas) emissions in the UK. Can you believe it? 45% in the UK! And who knows how much in other countries? As a consequence, a large part of the problem of tackling climate change rests with architects. RIBA recognises this and is taking appropriate action to stimulate the production of sustainable architecture.
